The first Pen of the Year is a fountain pen with a barrel made of snakewood, one of the most expensive woods in the world. Snakewood is an extremely dense hard wood that comes from a small, relatively rare tree found in the forests of Central and South America. Snakewood, named after its characteristic markings is initially deep red in color and changes its appearance upon being exposed to air, which makes the wood eventually turn reddish brown. The wood is used for making violin bows and exclusive carved works of art. The pen has an 18ct bicolored gold nib and platinum-plated grip section, end cap, and pen cap with a spring loaded clip.
Fountain Pen - Limited to 1,500 pieces.
